Ingredients

  • Toor dal – 1 tbsp
  • Chana dal – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Dry red chilies – 4
  • Grated coconut – 3 tbsp
  • Tamarind – small piece
  • Hing – a pinch
  • Salt – to taste
  • Manila Groundnut Oil - 1 tsp (for roasting)

Instructions

  • In groundnut oil, roast dals and red chilies till golden. Add tamarind and lightly roast.
  • Add grated coconut, give a quick sauté, and cool.
  • Grind all with salt and little water to form a coarse paste.
  • Serve with hot rice and a spoon of Manila Groundnut Oil.
