No. It is dehulled using a German cold mechanical method that retains surface nutrients and avoids the nutrient loss that comes from steaming or polishing.

Why is the color slightly off-white compared to supermarket dals?

That’s natural. Commercial dals are chemically whitened and polished. This is just washed and dried — so it retains a slightly creamier hue.

How does this dal improve fermentation or digestion?
