Ingredients

Ubari Urad Dal – 1/4 cup

Raw rice – 1 tbsp

Palm jaggery – 1/2 cup (grated)

Dry ginger powder – 1/4 tsp

Water – 2.5 cups

Coconut milk – 1/4 cup (optional)

Ghee – 1 tsp (for serving)

Instructions

Soak urad dal and rice for 1 hour.

Grind to a fine paste with a little water.

Boil 2.5 cups water, stir in the paste and cook on low, stirring continuously.

Once thick, add palm jaggery and dry ginger. Stir till dissolved.

Optional: Add coconut milk for richness.

Serve hot with a spoon of ghee on top.
