Ingredients

  • Naattu kozhi (country chicken) – 500g (cleaned & cut)
  • Onion – 2 (sliced)
  • Tomato – 1 (chopped)
  • Garlic – 6 cloves
  • Ginger – 1 inch
  • Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Red chili powder – 1.5 tsp
  • Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt – to taste

Instructions

  • Grind garlic and ginger into a paste. Marinate chicken with salt, turmeric, and half the chili powder.
  • Heat oil. Sauté onions until golden. Add tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste. Cook well.
  • Add remaining spices and marinated chicken.
  • Cook covered till the chicken is tender (add water if needed).
  • Open lid and roast on low flame till masala thickens and oil separates.
  • Add curry leaves and serve hot.
