Ingredients

  • Rice flour – 2 cups
  • Urad dal flour – 2 tbsp (lightly roasted & powdered)
  • Chana dal – 2 tbsp (soaked 1 hr)
  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Hing – 1/4 tsp
  • Butter – 1 tbsp (soft)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – as needed
  • Manila Groundnut Oil – for deep frying

Instructions

  • Mix all dry ingredients, add soaked chana dal and butter.
  • Slowly add water to make a stiff dough.
  • Take lemon-sized balls, flatten on a greased plastic sheet (prick with fork).
  • Heat groundnut oil. Deep-fry till golden and crisp on medium flame.
  • Cool and store in an airtight jar.
